Senior Procurement Specialist

Job Description


  • Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a Public Sector organisation in West Yorkshire to recruit an Senior Procurement Specialist on a permanent basis.


  • Assisting a number of high profile complex projects, which will demonstrate and deliver value for money and innovation whilst meeting the needs of the organisation
  • Undertake quotations, local tendering and EU tendering exercises ensuring adherence to financial instructions and EU Procurement regulations
  • Responsible for procurement and supply chain activities across the organisation whilst developing and delivery of the organisations Procurement Strategy
  • Provide sound Procurement advice in-line with standing financial instructions and EU procurement regulations
  • As a strong influencer and an experienced negotiator the post holder will pro-actively challenge current practices and strive to deliver continuous improvement to cost efficiencies


  • Fully Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) qualification & Membership by examination but this is not essential
  • Experience working in the housing/construction sector would be highly advantageous
  • Fully conversant with the application of EU/UK procurement legislation/tendering processes & procedures
  • Experience of contract, stakeholder & supplier management
