Client:
We are currently recruiting a Head of Procurement for a Public Sector organisation in Merseyside. The role will focus on developing their procurement strategy whilst working on strategic procurement projects across a number of different category areas.
Role:
- Ensure the delivery of a strategic plan in line with the organisation’s vision/value
- Lead a small team
- Drive continuous improvement and create social value through your procurement work
- Liaise with suppliers, stakeholders and your procurement network to keep up to date with market trends
- Build effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Develop strategies and business cases for new procurement projects
- Identify areas for added value and cost savings
- Provide procurement advice and guidance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement legislation
- Improve performance with innovative supply chain strategies and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Provide commercial advice and strategic risk management
- Auditing and report writing
Person:
- Staff management experience
- Strategic procurement experience
- Knowledge of Public Sector procurement processes
- Knowledge of public sector frameworks
- MCIPS qualified
