Castlefield Recruitment are currently working exclusively with an NHS Trust in Lancashire to recruit a Head of Risk on an interim basis for an initial 3 months, with the possibility of it being extended and also a potential permanent role for the right candidate.

This role will be in the office and would require someone with risk management experience in the healthcare sector.

Duties;

  • To provide expert advice on the system of risk management, developing and embedding consistent, effective, and integrated risk management processes
  • Lead management of the Trust’s risk register, ensuring a systematic approach to the identification and recording of strategic and operational risks, including the assessment and quantification of risk, and the formulation of clear decisions (with timely actions) to either optimise or accept risk
  • To compile reports, as required, for the Trust’s key assurance groups and committees to ensure effective monitoring of all risks
  • To oversee the coordination of all clinical negligence claims, and coronial inquest functions Trust wide
  • Provide direction, education and support to Trust staff in the effective management of risk ensuring that a positive, open and supportive risk management culture is adopted throughout the organization
  • To act as investigation support/project management for high level multi Care Organisation and/or highly complex systematic incidents as nominated by the Director of Patient Safety

The Person;

  • Expertise experience in risk on a managerial level, including
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff
  • Ability to prioritise own workload to plan, organise and complete projects within a defined timescale
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive issues with tact
  • Attention to detail and able to see tasks through to completion
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to interpret data
  • Flexible, self-motivated, team worker - outgoing and resourceful
