Client:

Castlefield Recruitment are exclusively recruiting for an Interim Senior Procurement Officer to join a Public Sector organisation based in Yorkshire on a part-time (3 days a week) basis. This will be for an initial 3 months with a strong chance of an extension.

The organisation offers agile/flexible working arrangements as standard, but this post will involve remote working for the duration of the contract. This position would be ideally suited to someone with extensive experience of tendering contracts, monitoring supplier performance and negotiating SLA’s with suppliers.

Role:

  • Reporting to the Head of finance with responsibility of managing the Procurement function
  • Providing procurement support, advice and guidance to staff from different business units, ensuring compliance with financial policies and regulations
  • Line management responsibility of an apprentice, ensuring their work is consistent and correct and suppliers are dealt with within agreed timescales
  • Provide advice, issue invitations to tender, review responses and award contracts accordingly

Person

  • Extensive experience of tendering, presenting information to stakeholders and an ability to anaylse complex scenarios
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills are essential
  • Previous public sector experience is essential
