Lead Closedown Accountant

Interim Closedown Accountant | 6 months + | Hybrid | Local Government

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority to recruit an Interim Closedown Lead / Financial Accountant on an initial 6 - 9 month interim basis. 

Duties;

• Leading the year end closedown and statutory returns 
• Liaising with the S151 and the Senior Leadership team
• Oversight of the internal and external audit processes related to the financial statements
• Provide hands-on management of the Council's debt modelling activities
• Supporting the medium-term financial planning (MTFS)
• Providing financial support across to senior stakeholders across the organisation
• Ensuring robust financial controls are in place and financial risk is understood

The person;

• CCAB/CIMA qualified, or equivalent 
• Extensive experience within Local Government Finance
