Medical Workforce Manager

Castlefield Recruitment is working in partnership with an NHS organisation based in the East of England that requires an experienced Medical Workforce Manager for a minimum three month fixed term assignment.

The Medical Workforce Manager will be responsible for the delivery of a high quality, responsive, business focused and professional medical workforce service to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe patient care. You will to manage the Medical HR function, overseeing junior doctor rotations, terms and conditions for all grade of medical staff across the trust and supporting the Divisions with job planning.

Key responsibilities will include;

  • Ensure the provision of a high quality Medical Workforce service to a consistent standard throughout the Trust, meeting agreed key performance indicators and service level standards;
  • To lead on the design, development, negotiation, and implementation and monitoring of all matters related to job planning, pay, contracts, recruitment, terms and conditions and training requirements for all doctors employed by the Trust;
  • Provide expert Medical HR advice and support to the Medical Director, Director of Medical Education and other colleagues within OD & People, such as the People Business Partners;
  • Work closely with Head of People Operations, HR Policy and Project Lead and external partners to create a consistent approach on medical workforce developments;
  • Monitor and assist departments to improve Job Plans and Junior Doctor’s rotas in accordance with National Terms and Conditions for Trust medical staff and HEE junior Doctors.

Key experience and skills will include;

  • Educated to Masters level or equivalent experience;
  • CIPD Qualified and member of CIPD;
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development;
  • Significant experience operating at a senior level in Medical Staffing in an NHS Trust;
  • Good knowledge of NHS employment contracts (medical);
  • Sound knowledge of NHS Terms and Conditions for Consultants, Staff Grades and Junior Doctors;
  • Knowledge of employment law and NHS guidance on employment practices;
  • Up to date knowledge of current NHS issues, initiatives and their impact on human resource management.
