Castlefield Recruitment are currently partnering with a Public Sector organisation based in South Yorkshire, recruiting for a procurement manager to join on a permanent basis.

This organisation operates a hybrid working policy, with the ability to work from home 2 days per week. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation which prides themselves on equality and diversity. This position would be ideally suited to an approachable individual with extensive experience of tendering contracts, utilising frameworks and managing suppliers.

Role:

  • Reporting to the Head of Finance, acting as the Procurement Lead for day to day procurement activities
  • Providing procurement support, advice and guidance to staff from different business units, ensuring compliance with public sector legislation and internal policies
  • Line management responsibility of a procurement admin, ensuring their work is consistent and correct and suppliers are dealt with within agreed timescales
  • Managing the supplier base, provide advice, issue invitations to tender and approve requisitions

Person

  • Previous public sector experience is preferred
  • CIPS Level 4 is preferred but not essential
  • Good working knowledge of frameworks and tenders
  • Good understanding of modern slavery
