About the Client:
Castlefield Recruitment is partnering with a reputable Public Sector Organisation in York to recruit a Senior Category Manager for their IT category. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional in category management who’s ready to take the next step in their career! 

In this role, you will support and lead a variety of commercial initiatives, working closely with the Head of Procurement. You’ll be responsible for developing category plans and managing high-value, complex contracts. This fully remote position provides flexibility, though the organisation also offers office-based contracts for those who prefer an in-office environment.

Role Overview:
• Act as Category Lead and manage complex, high-value IT procurements
• Support a wide range of commercial activities and contribute to the organisation’s procurement strategy
• Oversee the entire procurement process, helping develop detailed specifications for complex projects
• Drive category strategies and programs of work
• Ensure all procurement and contract management activities align with corporate procurement policies
• Identify cost optimisation opportunities and efficiencies
• Engage with stakeholders, providing expertise and ongoing support

What We're Looking For:
• Strong understanding of Public Sector Procurement
• Comprehensive knowledge of the end-to-end procurement cycle
MCIPS qualified professional
