Client:

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with an organisation in Huddersfield to recruit a Senior Procurement Specialist with a strong background in housing/construction on a 12-month FTC.

Role:

  • Developing internal relationships with key stakeholders to help drive procurement strategy
  • Provide comprehensive and professional procurement advice/guidance in line with EU procurement rules
  • Working with NEC and JCT contracts in order to achieve ambitious growth targets
  • Advise on appropriate procurement approaches and conduct all elements of tender preparation, analysis and evaluation and supplier and contract management
  • Assist with collection, analysis and reporting of contracting opportunities and updating contract information
  • Promote the principles and benefits of good procurement practice throughout
  • Lead and manage cross functional teams on major/complex projects
  • Manage an accurate contracts database
  • Utilise and promote the use of e-procurement systems
  • Support the delivery of procurement training courses
  • Ensuring all procurement activities deliver value for money
  • Manage the workload of Senior Procurement Officers

Person:

  • Relevant housing or construction related procurement experience – developed within either public or private sector roles
  • Level 5 Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) qualification is desirable
