Purpose:

Assisting the Development Manager/s & Head of Development with the delivery of theGroup’s Development Programme in line with the housing associations corporate objectives and Development Strategy.

To inspect and report on construction activities and quality of workmanship inaccordance with the contract scheme specification, design, health and safety requirements in compliance with CDM Regulations 2015, current Building Regulations and in accordance with the Homes England’s requirements from construction inception, practical completion and defects liability period.

To provide construction technical solutions and design advice relating to the group’s Development Programme schemes.

Help ensure the activities of the Company are carried out to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in accordance with the legal and statutory requirements, regulatory regulations and requirements, best practice and the Company’s policies and procedures. Keep up to date with relevant legislation, regulatory guidance, good practice and industry standard expectations.

Help ensure that the Company’s Equality and Diversity Strategy, Health and Safety Policy and Customer Service and Performance Policies are complied with throughout all activities within the scope of this role to ensure the highest standards of customer service. To ensure Value for Money is achieved in respect of all activities

Essential requirements

  • Proven experience, understanding and technical knowledge in practical building and associated customer liaison, in the delivery of construction projects including new build, refurbishment/ regeneration projects for open market sales/rents and Affordable housing Shared Ownership and rents.
  • Proven experience, understanding and technical knowledge in inspecting new build, refurbishment/ regeneration construction projects work.
  • Track record of positive construction related experience of working with contractors, consultants, local authorities building control, building standards agencies (such LABC and NHBC), public utility companies and customers.
  • Evidence of managing consultants, builders and or developers for construction related projects would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Proven experience, understanding and knowledge in the operation of associated IT systems and files.
  • Proven experience together with a track record of liaison with internal and external partners or stakeholders.
  • Educated to HNC/HND or City & Guilds level in a construction related discipline or have equivalent knowledge through work experience and training in construction and or new build development or relevant technical discipline e.g. Construction site management or Clerk of Works role.
