Clinical Expert Witness

Castlefield Recruitment are partnering with a leading Expert Witness provider, who is seeking an Expert Witness Specialist to write Medical Legal Expert Witness reports. The role requires someone from a clinical background who remains in clinical practice or case management or have up to date clinical knowledge.

The role is working on a self-employed basis, this is remote role with occasional client visits to assess claimants in their own homes.

Main duties will be preparing detailed CPR Part 35 compliant reports for the Court. Focusing on the care packages, case management assessment and rehabilitation/ therapy needs of claimants who have sustained injuries due to a personal injury or a medical negligence claim, which includes assessing the needs of the injured party, taking into account their life pre-injury, the impact it has had on everyday life and their needs going forward.

Contracted hours per month: 25 to 50 hours per month

Competitive hourly rate, subject to experience

Requirements :

• Previous Expert Witness is required
• At least 8 years’ post-qualification professional experience including working with Adults OR Children with brain injury, spinal or catastrophic injury
• Community based experience and a good understanding of rehabilitation needs following a catastrophic injury
• Implementation and management of community care packages/ case management experience
• Excellent verbal, written and personal presentation skills
• Confidence in your own professional judgement
• Great attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work including reviewing records and preparing lengthy documents
• Excellent IT skills and provision of own equipment/ work space
• Full UK Driving License
