Castlefield Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a large public sector organisation to recruit an Interim Finance Business Partner for Climate, Environment and Customer Services . This role plays a key part in providing both strategic and operational financial support across this division, Acting
As a trusted business partner, the successful candidate will lead on financial planning, budgeting, and monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership across climate/environment and customer services to support budgeting and strategic planning
- Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis, and guidance on ROI to inform decisions
- Lead monthly and quarterly performance reviews, variances analysis, and financial forecasting
- Develop dashboards and KPIs to track financial health and environmental metrics
- Guide customer service teams in pricing, cost control, margin analysis, and contract negotiations
- Support service-level agreements and contract compliance through financial data and projections
- Incorporate climate risk, carbon, and environmental cost considerations into financial decisions and reporting
- Evaluate funding proposals with environmental impact in mind (e.g., climate finance instruments, green investment feasibility)
- Collaborate with non-financial stakeholders (project managers, grant teams, service ops) to make finances understandable and actionable
- Support cross-functional projects, including environmental initiatives and customer-related transformations
- Improve financial systems, processes, and tools (e.g., budget tracking, dashboards)
- Ensure compliance with donor contracts, environmental grants, and financial regulations
Person attributes
- Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Able to translate financial data into clear insights for non-financial audiences
- Understands profit, cost drivers, contracting and sustainability financial impacts
- Builds trust with diverse teams and influences decision-makers
- Adept with ERP systems, dashboards, and financial reporting tools
