Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a large NHS organisation to appoint a Finance Manager – Management Accounts on an interim basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of management accounts, supporting budget holders, and ensuring high-quality financial reporting and analysis across the NHS organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead on the production of accurate and timely monthly management accounts in line with NHS reporting deadlines
- Provide financial advice, support, and challenge to budget holders and senior managers to ensure effective financial management
- Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Ensure compliance with NHS financial policies, procedures, and Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs)
- Contribute to the preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, including NHS England and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs)
- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy
Person Specification:
- Excellent communicator with the ability to liaise confidently at all levels across the organisation
- Must have NHS finance experience, particularly in management accounting and budgetary control
- Strong analytical and interpretative skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance staff
