Financial Accountant

Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a large NHS organisation to appoint a Financial Accountant on an interim basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the organisations financial accounting function, ensuring compliance with NHS financial regulations and statutory requirements.

Job Specification:

• Prepare, review, and reconcile monthly and annual financial accounts in line with NHS and statutory reporting requirements
• Support the production of annual accounts, liaising with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance and accuracy
• Maintain robust balance sheet controls and manage the integrity of financial systems and ledgers
• Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to support strategic and operational decision-making across the Trust
• Ensure compliance with NHS financial governance, Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs), and relevant accounting standards
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency and financial control

Person Specification:

• Excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise confidently at all levels across the organisation
• Proven NHS finance experience, with a strong understanding of NHS financial frameworks and reporting requirements
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and communicate it clearly to non-finance colleagues
