Salary: £88,500 per annum, plus £4,500 car allowance 

 

Are you an experienced regeneration leader with a passion for delivering transformative projects that benefit communities? Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) is looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Regeneration to lead and manage an ambitous regeneration programme with a key focus on the Civic Centre regeneration.

 

WCHG stand on the brink of one of the most ambitious regeneration projects in the North West - a £500 million transformation of Wythenshawe town centre. In partnership with Manchester City Council and Muse, this decade-long development will bring thousands of new homes, jobs, green spaces, cultural venues and inclusive opportunities. As the new Head of Regeneration, you’ll play a central role in shaping this once-in-a-generation project - not just building homes, but creating a bold, sustainable future for Wythenshawe and the people who call it home.

 

Head of Regeneration – About the Company:

Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) manages almost 14,000 properties, providing homes for more than 29,000 people in Wythenshawe, South Manchester. With nearly 500 colleagues, WCHG are committed to creating safer, healthier communities through quality homes, inclusive services, and a deep-rooted social purpose.

 

Head of Regeneration – About the Role:

As Head of Regeneration, you will provide strategic leadership, oversee large-scale regeneration projects, and manage budgets while working closely with stakeholders, partners, and community groups. You will be instrumental in driving sustainable development, ensuring social value, and aligning with WCHG’s core values. Your expertise in project management, stakeholder engagement, and financial oversight will be vital in shaping the future of Wythenshawe.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver WCHG regeneration priorities.
  • Procure and prepare development briefs and appraisals for development sites. Collaborate with stakeholders to secure resources and process grant claims.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the Exec Director of Development in service delivery and deputise as required.
  • Promote innovative approaches to regeneration and continuously seek improvements in processes and outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a good knowledge of key regeneration and development issues and policies.

 

Head of Regeneration – The Successful candidate will have:

  • Proven leadership experience in regeneration or large-scale development.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to motivate and lead teams towards common goals.
  • Experience in planning processes and working with external partners like Muse Places Ltd.
  • A methodical and strategic thinker who can also navigate complex, sensitive situations professionally.
