Health Economist

Health Economist | North West (Hybrid) | £200 - £230pd | 3 months Interim

Castlefield are delighted to be working with a Healthcare organisation to help them source a Health Economist. You will play a pivotal role in transforming care pathways and delivering impact at scale across the region.

About the Role:

As a Health Economist, you'll bring expert insight into the benefits realisation and economic evaluation of cutting-edge healthcare projects and innovations. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners, you’ll lead analytical efforts that influence strategic decisions and policy, using tools such as cost-benefit analysis, budget impact modelling, ROI evaluations, and more.

You’ll help articulate the value and outcomes of innovations across the health and social care system, ensuring projects align with the wider goals of reducing inequality, improving patient outcomes, and boosting productivity.

Duties

• Lead the design and implementation of benefits measurement and evaluation frameworks for innovation programmes
• Conduct complex health economic modelling, including CBA, BIA, and ROI analysis
• Translate evidence and data into actionable insights to influence strategic healthcare decisions
• Support the development of business cases aligned with national best practice
• Engage with clinicians, data analysts, project leads, and policy makers to shape robust, patient-focused initiatives
• Ensure impact is measured accurately and reported clearly to stakeholders at all levels

Requirements:

• A degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant subject, such as health economics, public health, or related analytical field
• Proven experience applying health economics in practice, especially in NHS or healthcare settings
• Experience evaluating clinical and non-clinical outcomes
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly
• Skilled in using data and analytical software (e.g. Excel, or similar)
