Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse or OPD specialising in Endoscopy to join our clients healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during endoscopic procedures. This position requires a thorough understanding of this service and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Duties
- Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, ensuring they understand the process and addressing any concerns.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic examinations by providing necessary instruments and support.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after procedures.
- Administer medications as prescribed and manage sedation protocols.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation throughout the procedure.
- Ensure all equipment is properly sterilised and functioning before use.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients on post-procedure care and follow-up instructions.
Experience
- Registered Nurse qualification or OPD
- Current and Valid Registration with NMC or HCPC
- Previous experience in an endoscopy unit or similar clinical or theatre setting is preferred
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to gastrointestinal health
- Proven ability to provide exceptional patient care with a focus on comfort and safety
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
