Epilepsy Society is a UK charity dedicated to research, care and support for people affected by epilepsy. Our organisation is home to some of the most advanced epilepsy services and research facilities in the country.
Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is an area of clinical chemistry that specialises in measuring medication levels (concentrations) in patients, usually through blood samples but also through saliva samples.
Earlier this year, the department went through a period of transition, and we urgently needed to recruit three business-critical roles:
1.Head of Therapeutic Drug Monitoring (TDM) Unit Laboratory
2.Clinical Laboratory Scientist
3.Quality & Admin Lead
From the outset, Castlefield’s approach stood out. Following a briefing meeting, they listened carefully to the challenges we faced, understood the urgency of the situation and quickly put together a clear plan to source the right people.
What impressed me most was their thorough process and attention to detail. For each role, they provided a strong shortlist of candidates who had the skills and experience we needed. Castlefield conducted a comprehensive search, sourcing exceptional candidates including one professional relocating back to the UK and another willing to move from the north of England.
Their service was more than just sending CVs. They offered advice, regular updates, and clear communication throughout, which gave me confidence and saved me a huge amount of time. It felt like a true partnership rather than a transactional process.
Within the agreed deadlines, Castlefield successfully placed all three roles. The quality of the candidates has been excellent, and the department is now in a much stronger position to deliver on our work.
- We have a new Head of TDM bringing vital expertise and
leadership. - A skilled Clinical Laboratory Scientist adding real value to the
team. - A Quality & Admin Lead ensuring everything runs smoothly ready
for an upcoming Audit.
