Head of Financial Management, Senior Financial Management Accountant
Manchester University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is one of the largest acute Trusts in the UK employing over 20,000 staff and running9 hospitals across 6 separate sites. An important part of this, is the grouping known as WTWA –Wythenshawe, Trafford, Withington and Altrincham who required assistance to recruit two senior finance positions:
- Head of Financial Management
- Senior Financial Management Accountant
Having previously struggled to recruit via NHS jobs, WTWA opted to engage an agency to lead this key project. Castlefield were selected following meetings with the Finance and HR leadership teams where they presented case studies and client testimonials, evidencing their capability to lead on high profile campaigns of this nature. They also provided a value for money proposition by offering a significant fee reduction based on the mutual commitment of their retained search offering.
Following an in-depth shortlisting process in which Castlefield carried out two stages of interviews, they provided a high quality, diverse candidate shortlist for both positions, with candidates coming from industry, the wider public sector and NHS backgrounds.
MFT chose to interview all of the recommended candidates, all of whom attended interview resulting in both roles being offered and appointed to first time. Another benefit to Castlefield’s approach was the tracking of Management Information during the project which has been presented back to MFT and the NHS, adding value to future campaigns.
