Golden Lane Housing (GLH) is one of the UK’s leading supported housing providers for people with a learning disability and autistic people. With over 3,000 tenants across England, Wales and Northern Ireland, we provide high quality homes that enable people to live independently in the heart of their local communities.
Golden Lane Housing required specialist recruitment support to appoint two key roles within their People function – People & Culture Project Officer and People & Payroll Business Partner.
After early recruitment efforts failed to attract candidates with the necessary skills and experience, Golden Lane Housing looked to utilise a recruitment agency with a strong track record.
Castlefield Recruitment were engaged to deliver an exclusive, retained recruitment campaign for the two vacancies. Even though our team had never worked with Castlefield directly, the agency alerted us to the fact that marketing material used by another team at GLH for a historic retained process was available to use and the amendments could be made free of charge.
Castlefield’s process then included market mapping, proactive candidate engagement, and competency-based screeningto ensure candidates didn’t just align with the job specifications but with GLH’s values and organisational culture as well.
GLH were presented with two strong shortlists and candidates were booked in for interview the same day, under strict time constraints.
Candidates then participated in a two-stage interview process, a competency-based stage with the hiring managersand a value-based stage with a tenant panel comprising of individuals housed by Golden Lane Housing.
Following conclusion of the interviews, it was clear Castlefield had successfully identified a number of suitable options that matched GLH’s requirements as seven of the candidates interviewed were employable.
