Castlefield Recruitment are working with a large NHS organisation in the East Midlands who are seeking a Band 7 or 8a Financial Accountant to join their team on a 6 month fixed-term contract. They are looking for someone with strong NHS finance experience who is able to start at short notice.

Responsibilities:

• Supporting the preparation of monthly and annual statutory accounts in line with NHS and IFRS requirements
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring robust financial controls are maintained
• Assisting with the monthly reporting cycle, including variance analysis and commentary
• Managing capital accounting processes, including asset registers, depreciation, and capital reporting
• Supporting internal and external audit processes, providing accurate working papers and responses
• Contributing to financial improvement initiatives and helping streamline existing processes

Person:

• Strong NHS finance experience, ideally within a Financial Accounting function
• Someone who is highly organised, detail-focused, and able to manage competing deadlines
• Strong system skills, including Excel and NHS finance systems
