Castlefield Recruitment are exclusively working with a Public Sector organisation based in Manchester City Centre who are recruiting for an Data Protection officer on a full-time permanent basis.

The role is suited to a candidate who is pro-active, ambitious, and hard-working that has experience of the day-to-day management of the Data Protection function to ensure compliance with GDPR and Data Protection legislation.

Role:

• Provided high-quality support to ensure an effective Information Governance service across the Trust, including compliance with Information Governance and Data Protection legislation and standards.
• Supported continuous service review, contributing to the development and implementation of new IG standards, policies and practices across the Trust.
• Assisted the Trust in maintaining full compliance with Data Protection legislation, IG Standards and best-practice requirements.
• Contributed to the implementation, monitoring and reporting of the Information Governance Framework, IG KPIs and the wider IG improvement plan.
• Managed and responded to Subject Access Requests (SARs) and Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), ensuring timely, accurate and lawful disclosure of information.
• Reviewed SAR/DSAR requests for complexity, liaised with internal departments and ensured appropriate redaction processes were followed to protect confidential and sensitive data.

Person:

• Background in an Information Governance support role, specific hands-on experience of the full IG and DP processes
• Experience in working in a large, complex, multi-site IG environment
• Proven knowledge and experience of leading a customer focused IG support team
• A self-motivated and inquisitive individual who thrives on change
• Comfortable with a high level of autonomy and potential uncertainty
• Experienced in stakeholder management up to board level
