Castlefield Recruitment are currently partnering with a Public Sector organisation in Lancashire to recruit an IT Category Manager. The role offers hybrid working and free on-site parking.
The Role:
- Develop and implement category strategies for IT procurement, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and the achievement of value for money.
- Mentor, and support a team of procurement professionals, driving high performance, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage the full procurement lifecycle across assigned categories, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, procurement legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, realise, and report procurement savings, efficiencies, and broader value opportunities across designated categories.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand operational and strategic requirements.
- Undertake ongoing market analysis, supplier intelligence, and benchmarking activities within the IT category to support informed sourcing decisions.
- Lead contract negotiations and oversee supplier relationships, ensuring performance is effectively managed against agreed KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations.
- Promote and embed social value, sustainability, and local economic growth objectives through category management strategies and procurement activities.
The Person:
- Experience operating in a strategic procurement team
- Category management experience
- Staff management desirable
- Ability to develop and implement category strategies
- Public Sector procurement experience
