The Role:

As a Resident Medical Officer (RMO), you will play a key role in delivering safe, high-quality medical care to patients undergoing procedures and treatments within a modern private healthcare setting at Welbeck’s brand-new Oxford site. Working closely with Consultants, Nursing teams and Allied Health Professionals, you will provide medical cover for patients throughout their treatment journey, responding to clinical concerns, managing emergencies when required, and supporting the delivery of outstanding patient outcomes.

Duties will include:

• Provide day-to-day medical cover for patients within the hospital, ensuring safe and effective clinical care at all times
• Assess and manage patients presenting with acute medical concerns, escalating appropriately to Consultants and specialist teams where required
• Support pre-operative and post-operative patient care, including clinical assessments, prescribing and treatment planning
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies and deteriorating patients, leading initial management and stabilisation
• Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records in line with regulatory and organisational standards
• Work collaboratively with Consultants, Nurses, Physiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
• Participate in clinical governance activities, audits, quality improvement programmes and service development initiatives
• Ensure compliance with CQC requirements, professional standards and hospital policies
• Support the development of junior colleagues and contribute to a positive, patient-focused culture throughout the service.

The Person:

The successful RMO:

• Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a licence to practise.
• Minimum of four years' postgraduate clinical experience within acute hospital settings.
• Previous experience working as an RMO, Trust Grade Doctor, Clinical Fellow, SHO or Registrar within medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, anaesthetics or critical care.
• Current ALS certification
• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, with the ability to recognise and respond effectively to deteriorating patients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work autonomously whilst building effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
• A commitment to clinical governance, patient safety and continuous professional development.
