The Role:

We are looking to source a qualified experienced Cross Sectional Radiographer for their brand-new hospital site in Cambridge. Welbeck Cambridge’s new imaging department sits at the heart of its purpose‑built £22m site at Unity Campus, delivering advanced diagnostics through state‑of‑the‑art MRI, CT, digital X‑ray and 3D mammography systems. The centre combines cutting‑edge technology including AI‑enabled imaging and high‑resolution breast diagnostics with modern clinical environments designed for fast, precise and patient‑centred care.

Duties will include:

• Deliver high‑quality CT imaging, independently assessing, justifying, and performing examinations across a broad clinical caseload
• Ensure patient safety by adhering to IR(ME)R, Local Rules, MRI safety standards and all governance, infection prevention, and quality requirements
• Manage patients compassionately throughout their imaging journey, maintaining dignity, privacy and clear communication at every stage
• Optimise imaging protocols and evaluate image quality to support accurate diagnosis, efficient workflows and excellent clinical outcomes
• Administer IV contrast and drugs safely under PGDs, demonstrating competence in cannulation and patient monitoring
• Support smooth day‑to‑day operations including patient throughput, worklist coordination, resource utilisation and cross‑cover across modalities
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture through mentorship, professional role‑modelling and active participation in QA, audits and service improvement.

The Person:

The successful Cross Sectional Radiographer:

• BSc (Hons) Radiography or DCR(R) (or recognised international equivalent) with current HCPC registration
• Minimum 2 years’ imaging experience, with the ability to work independently across a broad range of examinations
• First rate organisational, planning and time‑management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a fast‑paced clinical environment
• Experience of effective multidisciplinary team working and delivering high‑quality patient care across imaging settings
