Stoke-on-Trent City Council is undergoing an ambitious transformation, driving innovation across services and investing in the city's future. As part of this journey, we are partnering with Castlefield Recruitment to expand our finance team and seek 4 talented, motivated individuals to help shape the next chapter of our success.
The Systems Accountant post will work within a commercially focused team to provide financial advice and support, whilst responsible for the management, maintenance, development and improvement of the core financial systems.
Responsibilities include;
- Delivering high-quality, efficient financial, accounting and budgeting services to support the Council and key service areas
- Supporting with the delivery of medium-term financial planning
- Ensuring effective administration of the finance system overseeing and remaining a key point of contact between Finance and IT
- Championing the finance system and be the lead point of contact for system-related queries
- Providing training to team members to ensure effective and efficient use of systems
- Supporting the delivery of an integrated, robust financial planning process
The successful candidate;
- CCAB/CIMA qualified Finance professional (or equivalent experience)
- Experience using complex finance systems (SAP desirable)
- Strong business partnering skillset with the ability to build influential relationships with non-finance
