Castlefield are currently partnering with a Public Sector organisation in Lancashire to recruit a Senior Category Manager. You will manage a small team of procurement professionals and mainly specialise in Construction, Estates and FM projects.
The Role:
- Lead strategic procurement activity in respective category areas
- Lead on large-scale procurement programmes
- Deliver category strategies that ensure value for money, achieve social value targets and comply with relevant legislation
- Provide advice and guidance to key stakeholders on market trends, supplier capacity and regulatory changes
- Manage a team of procurement staff
- Manage supplier relationships
- Lead complex contract negotiations
- Perform regular market analysis and benchmarking activities
The Person:
- Direct category experience in a relevant area
- Strong track record in category management and strategic sourcing
- Public Sector procurement experience
- Evidence of strategic procurement delivery
- Staff management experience
