Head of Medical Engineering - £63,020 Potential for increase depending on experience

Atlas is seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Medical Engineering to lead and develop its Electronic & Biomedical Engineering (EBME) service, delivering high-quality medical engineering support across healthcare services in Blackpool.

This is a rare opportunity for a senior healthcare engineering professional to take overall responsibility for a critical service, ensuring the safe, compliant and effective management of medical devices while driving innovation, service improvement and long-term asset management strategies.

About the Role

Reporting to the new Director of Operations you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Medical Engineering service ensuring delivery against contractual requirements and supporting clinical services through effective management of medical equipment and associated services.

Key responsibilities include:

· Leading and developing the Medical Engineering(EBME) function

· Driving service transformation, continuous improvement and innovation

· Ensuring compliance with MHRA guidance, medicaldevice regulations and governance requirements

· Managing medical equipment asset lifecycles and replacement programmes

· Leading procurement activities, supplier relationships and contract management

· Managing budgets, service performance and financial accountability

· Developing and leading multi disciplinary engineering teams

· Building strong relationships with clinical and operational stakeholders

· Providing expert advice on medical device strategy, risk and performance

About You

We're looking for an accomplished leader with significant experience in medical device management, clinical engineering, healthcare technology management or a related field.

You will ideally have:

· A relevant degree or equivalent experience.

· Significant experience in the management and evaluation of medical devices.

· Proven leadership experience within a technical or healthcare environment.

· Experience managing budgets, workforce performance and service delivery

· Strong knowledge of medical device governance,compliance and risk management

· Excellent communication, stakeholder managementand leadership skills

· Experience leading change, service improvementand operational transformation programmes
