Pharmacy Technician | East Midlands | £17 - £19ph | 3 month + Interim
Castlefield are delighted to be partnering with a well known Healthcare organisation in the East Midlands. The successful Pharmacy Technician will join a medicines management team, supporting the safe, accurate and efficient supply of medicines to clinical teams. This interim role will be for an initial three month period.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the production, checking and preparation of medicine response bags in line with SOPs and pharmaceutical guidelines
- Support Medicines Management Assistants with accurate dispensing, packaging, batch number and expiry date recording
- Manage pharmaceutical stock, including receipt, rotation, returns, expired medicines and secure storage
- Safely manage controlled drugs, maintaining accurate registers and ensuring compliance with legislation and organisational procedures
- Support the safe destruction and disposal of medicines, including controlled drugs with an authorised witness
- Undertake medicines safety audits and monitor compliance with storage, handling and medicines management standards
- Identify and report medication errors, supporting investigations and learning to improve medicines safety
- Collate activity and medicines management data, contributing to quarterly and annual reports
Person specification and essential criteria:
- NVQ level 3 - Pharmacy Services or equivalent
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician and hold national accrediations or similar
- Experience of working unsupervised within a busy production based pharmacy department
