Job Specification
- Lead delivery of accurate, timely and high-quality management accounts, forecasting and financial performance reporting for the Trust
- Provide expert financial advice and challenge to Care Groups, Divisions and Corporate teams, supporting effective budgetary control and decision-making
- Oversee monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis, risk identification, and mitigation, ensuring alignment with NHS and regulatory requirements
- Support development and delivery of the Trust’s annual financial plan, medium-term financial strategy, and cost improvement programmes
- Ensure robust financial controls, governance, and compliance, contributing to audit processes and continuous improvement of financial systems and processes
- Lead and develop management accounting teams, promoting high performance, professional standards, and collaborative working
Person Specification
- Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with substantial management accounting experience, preferably within an NHS provider or complex public sector organisation
- Strong understanding of NHS financial regimes, planning, budgeting, and performance management processes
- Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and support senior operational and clinical leaders
- Highly developed analytical and communication skills, able to present complex financial information clearly and credibly to non-financial audiences
