Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a Housing Association who are looking to recruit a Financial Accountant on an interim basis (3 - 6 months). This will be hybrid working, and the day rate will be dependent on the candidate’s experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for housing portfolios, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and sector-specific requirements
- Assisting in the management of rent accounting, service charges, and grant funding, ensuring income is correctly recorded and reconciled
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including balance sheet reconciliations and audit preparation
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support investment decisions, development projects, and asset management within the housing sector
- Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders, including auditors, regulators, and local authorities, to ensure robust financial control and governance
Person specification:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly translate complex financial information for non-finance staff
- Full professional accounting qualification is essential
- Experience of managing and developing staff is desirable
