We are currently working in partnership with an NHS Trust in Sussex to recruit an experienced Medical Rota Manager for an immediate start.

Job Description

The Medical Rota Manager will take responsibility for overseeing and coordinating the medical rota, ensuring safe and effective staffing levels across services. This role requires close collaboration with junior and senior medical staff, educational supervisors, and wider clinical teams.

You will play a key role in maintaining rota compliance, supporting outpatient and theatre activity, and ensuring that staffing aligns with both local and national performance targets, including waiting time standards.

The role demands strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, as you will work across multidisciplinary teams and liaise with both clinical and operational stakeholders. You may also be required to deputise for senior colleagues where appropriate.

In addition, you will contribute to service development and support the Trust in delivering its strategic objectives, particularly in relation to access targets, operational efficiency, and adherence to policies and standards of care.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience in medical rota management
• Recent NHS experience at Band 5 or Band 6 level
• Demonstrable management experience
• Excellent working knowledge of spreadsheets and database systems
• Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Summary

• Role Title: Medical Rota Manager
• Location: Sussex
• Salary: £21.50 per hour (Umbrella)
• Contract: 3 months initially, with a view to extend
• Start Date: ASAP
• Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (Hybrid working to be confirmed)
