Castlefield Recruitment are pleased to be supporting an NHS Trust in the South East of England recruit a Head of Fire Safety on a permanent basis.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
· Responsible for the strategic and operational delivery of fire safety management across the Trust’s estate.
· Provide corporate-level governance, assurance, and expert professional advice on fire safety, ensuring integration with corporate risk management, audit and Board assurance frameworks, and reporting to senior leadership and Board committees as required
· Shape and implement strategy to proactively manage fire safety risks across operational services and capital developments, maintain statutory and regulatory compliance, and promote a strong fire safety culture across all sites
· Oversee the development, implementation, and assurance of a comprehensive Fire Safety Management System, supporting safe environments for patients, staff, visitors, and property, and ensuring alignment with corporate governance standards and policy frameworks
Person Specification
· Degree-level qualification in Fire Safety, Fire Engineering, Health & Safety or equivalent senior-level experience
· Extensive knowledge of fire safety legislation, statutory compliance requirements, and national guidance (e.g., HTM Fire code)
· Senior management experience in a complex, multi-site, safety-critical environment
· Experience developing and implementing fire safety or regulatory compliance strategies
· Experience leading fire safety audits, inspections, or compliance programmes
