Healthcare Assistant (HCA) | Yorkshire | 2 month interim | £13ph
Castlefield is are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join a busy Diagnostic Services team. You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality diagnostic imaging services, ensuring patients receive excellent care throughout their MRI journey.
Working alongside Radiographers and clinical staff, you will help maintain an efficient, patient-focused service within a busy imaging department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation, care, and support of patients undergoing MRI examinations
- Ensure patient safety, dignity, and comfort at all times
- Prepare MRI rooms and equipment, including infection prevention and control measures
- Support patient flow and department efficiency
- Assist with patient documentation and adherence to MRI safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and the multidisciplinary team
About You
- Caring, reliable, and patient-focused approach
- Ability to work calmly in a clinical environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn MRI-specific procedures and safety requirements
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required
Essential Criteria
- Experience working in a healthcare or patient-facing role
- Understanding of confidentiality and patient care standards
Desirable Criteria
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Healthcare Support (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards
- Previous experience in radiology or diagnostic imaging
- Knowledge of MRI safety principles
