Castlefield Recruitment is a leading specialist in healthcare recruitment. We are recruiting for a highly skilled Locum Sonographer to join a dynamic clinical team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional looking to contribute to patient care and reduce waiting list times through high-quality ultrasound services.
As a Locum Sonographer, you will play a key role in the delivery of diagnostic imaging services. You will perform a wide range of ultrasound scans and ensure all procedures meet high clinical standards. Your focus will be on delivering safe, effective, and compassionate care to patients while maintaining excellent communication with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct ultrasound scans across a broad range of areas, including:
- Musculoskeletal pre-steroid injection imaging
- Superficial lumps (neck, axilla, groin)
- Gynaecological (transabdominal and transvaginal)
- Renal, bladder, prostate
- Scrotal/testicular
- Accurately report and document findings in line with clinic and NHS policies,
- Ensure the highest standards of patient care, safety, dignity, and confidentiality
- Maintain current knowledge of sonographic practices, protocols, and equipment
- Participate in clinical audits, CPD, and ongoing quality improvement
- Collaborate with front-of-house and clinical staff to support efficient service delivery
Job Requirements
Essential:
- Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification ultrasound experience
- At least 6 months of recent NHS experience within the last 2 years
- HCPC registration or equivalent professional body recognition
- Postgraduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound (e.g., PG Diploma or MSc)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven commitment to patient-centred care and clinical excellence
