Governance Manager | Lancashire | £45,000 - £50,000 | 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract
Castlefield Recruitment are working with a leading Housing Association based in Lancashire who are seeking an experienced Governance Manager to ensure robust governance and regulatory compliance.
Key Duties
- Oversee and maintain the Group Governance Framework, ensuring timely reviews and appropriate Board approvals.
- Maintain effective governance structures, including constitutional documentation, governance diagrams and meeting frameworks.
- Lead the coordination of governance meetings, ensuring accurate reporting, decision tracking and follow-up.
- Monitor legal and regulatory compliance, maintaining statutory and regulatory registers and ensuring submissions are completed on time.
- Oversee the policy framework to ensure strategies, policies and procedures are up to date, approved and effectively tracked.
- Support external governance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain robust information governance and probity processes, including declarations of interest and fraud awareness.
- Ensure governance website disclosures meet legal and best practice requirements.
- Lead and develop the Governance team, promoting accountability, performance and innovation.
Person Specification
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, Company Law, Charity Commission requirements and sector regulators.
- Experience managing statutory returns, compliance registers and Board reporting within a regulated environment.
- Knowledge of information governance legislation, including GDPR.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with attention to detail and sound judgement.
- High levels of integrity, discretion and commitment to continuous improvement.
