Client:
Castlefield are partneringwith a reputable organisation to recruit a personable and driven Procurement Category Lead to join their growing Procurement team on a permanent basis. Thisis an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to playa pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s category strategy and deliveringmeaningful impact across a broad range of procurement activities
Duties will include:
- To shape and lead an end-to-end productive category management approach to procurement
- To ensure the category specific buying strategy and approach is aligned to the overall procurement strategy
- Provide procurement support for strategic initiatives
- Acting as a subject matter expert, offering strategic procurement support across various high‑profile initiatives
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a team of Buyers and Assistant Buyers, encouraging best practice and continuous growth
- Gather information, conduct research, analyse data, and prepare reports
- Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders
The successful candidate will:
- Public Sector experience is required
- Demonstrable experience managing and delivering procurement processes, with a strong appreciation of strategic and operational procurement
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to work at pace and confidently hit the ground running
- Strong people management skills, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship‑building skills
