Salary: £40,000 - £44,000 per year

Length: Fixed‑Term Contract until March 2028
A public sector organisation is seeking an Estates Policy& Procedures Lead to design and implement a brand‑new estates policyframework from the ground up. This is a high‑impact role for someone who cantranslate strategic intent into clear, practical and auditable policies thatdrive consistency, compliance and operational excellence across a complexestate.
The Role
- Build and maintain estates policies, SOPs, standards and guidance
- Translate operational needs into clear, testable policy requirements
- Establish document control, versioning and approval processes
- Lead consultation with estates, compliance, technology and operational stakeholders
- Ensure policies support H&S, fire safety, accessibility and public‑sector governance
- Define CAD and data standards, ensuring quality and integrity
- Deliver training, rollout and adoption of new policies
- Report on policy compliance, risks, exceptions and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For
- Level 5 qualification or equivalent experience in workplace/facilities, space planning, design or information systems
- Experience developing and implementing estates policies and procedures
- Background in complex, multi‑site or regulated environments
- Strong ability to turn operational detail into clear, practical policy
- Confident working with governance and compliance stakeholders
- Excellent communication, documentation and stakeholder‑influencing skills
Technical Skills
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and CAFM systems
- Strong Excel capability
- Familiarity with MI/data visualisation tools
- Understanding of information governance and secure data handling
Knowledge
- Workplace regulations (H&S, fire safety, accessibility)
- Public sector standards and governance frameworks
- Awareness of RIBA stages
