Salary: £50,000 - £53,000 per annum + excellent benefits package (20% pension, 31 days AL + BH etc)

Client:
Castlefield are currently recruiting a Procurement Manager on behalf of a standalone public sector organisation with a head office in Hull.
As the Procurement Manager, you will get chance to lead the strategic decision-making process, acting as the ‘Number 2’ within the Procurement Function and get the chance to work for a well-rounded senior leader to help develop your career further.
Role:
- Manage a portfolio of projects across a range of category area while providing on-the-ground commercial support for planning, implementation and monitoring initiatives always ensuring compliance
- Manage a team of 6 Procurement Officers, effectively organising resources to meet demand, supporting team development and continuous improvement
- Implementation of strategic plans and making recommendations for actions to stakeholders, ensuring adherence to UK Procurement Regulations and Government policy
- Support the evaluation of competitive tenders and proposals for the supply of goods and services
- Lead contract and supplier management programmes including supply chain improvement projects and strategic category management
- Develop and deliver procurement savings plans for specific categories in collaboration with the customer ensuring quantifiable cashable efficiencies are identified, prioritised, delivered and reported
Person:
- Public Sector procurement experience is highly advantageous
- Previous experience managing or mentoring staff
- A desire to develop and learn and work in an agile and commercial way
