Employee Relations & Advisory Team Lead
Castlefield Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading Public Sector organisation based at sites across England that requires an experienced Employee Relations & Advisory Team Lead on a permanent basis. This hybrid role can be based at sites in the North West, Yorkshire and London.
The organisation is seeking an experienced Employee Relations & Advisory Team Lead to provide both strategic and operational leadership across employee relations and people advisory services, ensuring the delivery of a consistent, high-quality, and business-focused HR service.
Reporting to the Head of People and embedded within the People Partner team, this newly created role will lead a team of Employee Relations Advisors and People Advisors. This role would suit someone that has a blend of ER experience coupled with strategic HR change and transformation exposure. You will have managed and developed teams in previous roles and ideally have worked at strategic level in complex, multisite organisations in both the private and public sectors.
Key responsibilities to include;
· Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team of Employee Relations and People Advisors, promoting a collaborative and customer-focused culture
· Establish and embed an Employee Relations and Advisory Centre of Expertise within the People Partner Team, providing seamless support to People Partners and the Talent & Operations team.
· Manage ER and advisory resources, setting priorities, allocating cases, and defining responsibilities to ensure timely, consistent and pragmatic support
· Act as the senior escalation point for complex, high-risk and sensitive employee relations matters, providing expert guidance and risk oversight, including liaison with external employment advisers where required
· Develop and maintain a robust employee relations framework that ensures consistency, fairness and compliance with employment legislation
· Lead the development of Group-wide ER reporting, using data and insights to identify trends, mitigate risks and inform decision-making, with regular reporting to the Head of People, Chief People Officer and Executive Team
Key experience and skills to include;
· Extensive senior-level HR and Employee Relations experience within complex, multi-site organisations in both Private and Public sectors
· People management capability, with a strong track record of developing high-performing teams and driving operational excellence
· Comprehensive knowledge of UK employment law andemployee relations best practice
· Experience in managing complex employee relations casework, including tribunal preparation
· Significant experience designing and implementing employee relations governance frameworks
· Strong stakeholder engagement, management and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and provide expert advice to senior leaders
· Experience of working in a highly unionised environment
